ERD

The Emergency Response Department (ERD) is a newly established unit at the Services.

One of its main functions is to respond to natural disasters as well as other such man-made disasters to provide rescue, relief and recovery services to the effected people.

This Division comprises of individual members from the Service who bring different technical and specialised skills that may assist in the rescue, relief and recovery situation.

Although it is a relatively new Department development and specialisation of this Department are one of the main objectives of this Department.

However, since the establishment of this Department, the Emergency Response Team has been deployed to relief efforts in Ha’apai after Tropical Cyclone Ian, water mitigation operations at Tongata'eapa and the distribution of water relief to the people of the Ha’apai Islands.
